Osteoporosis is a "silent disease"

First of its kind in the country, Center for prevention of osteoporosis in HSS was established to prevent and treat osteoporosis. Congress recognized as a model for other organizations to follow, is the only center in New York, part of the New York State Osteoporosis Prevention Education Program. This is a disease in which bones become less dense and more fragile, thereby increasing the risk of fractures. Osteoporosis is a "silent disease" because there are no furosemide warning signs or symptoms until fractures occur.
